Fulbright Scholarships- The U.S.-Swiss Fulbright Program

"The Fulbright Commission aims to bring a little more knowledge, a little more reason, and a little more compassion into world affairs and thereby increase the chance that nations will learn at last to live in peace and friendship."
Senator J. William Fulbright

The Fulbright Program has been established in 1946 with the aim of fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other nations through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills. Since its inception the program has been expanded and operates in 144 countries as of today. More than 200'000 participants have been able to benefit from the exchange program by studying in the US or in a participating country. With more than 200'000 alumni, the program has helped fostered bilateral relationships.

The U.S. - Swiss Fulbright Program has been active for many years, providing scholarships for Swiss students to study in the United States and for American students to study in Switzerland. In recent years the number of grants for U.S. and Swiss students has been significantly increased thanks to the support of private companies and organizations.
